Auto steering Valve Fitting John Deere 7530

Been talking to L H Agro regarding auto steer options for 2008 JD 7530 (non auto steer ready). The price they have quoted for the Topcon steering wheel x35 screen etc is similar to them supplying a auto steering valve to plum into the excisting orbital valve( open centre) effectively making the tractor auto steer ready

The valve needs to be fitted by an engineer or dealership. Has anyone had the valve fitted on a John Deere or any make. Did it work ok?

No but I made a non autotrac 6430 fully autotrac ready to factory spec for 6300 for comparison. Not sure if your kit includes it but make sure the steering angle sensor is included or no matter what you do it will be no better than a strap on steering wheel.

LH Agro are supplying the valve. But I have to get it fitted. They will than come and fit the rest inc wheel angle sensors
Not sure how much a dealer will charge to fit the valve though ?

If it is Topcon from LH Agro, they would likely fit the wheel angle sensor with the strap on steering wheel too (I guess optional). Not sure if anyone installs hydraulic steering without a wheel angle sensor (on a tractor with normal steering) but a good point to look after for both options.

Would also be interesting to know if their valve has a signal that disengages autosteer when the steering wheel is turned or if they use a separate steering wheel angle sensor. I'm sure they have that covered.

Labour on mine was 1500-2000 somewhere there but was quite tricky to get the loom in (new a pillar socket, new lift quadrant with autosteer engage button and fitting the loom all through the cab, to the isobus socket on the back and to the front axle as well as the new steering valve fitting…if it’s just the valve block shouldn’t be too bad…I think it’s external anyway, under offside cab door 🤔

All our tractors, combine and sprayer are non steer ready and have valve fitted it fitted relatively easily with just a couple of hyd pipes and fittings required. What took longer was fitting all the wiring etc. The valve will detect the pressure change when you turn the steering wheel and will automatically disengage. Our new tractor that’s coming is our first steering ready tractor hope it performs as well as our current systems

This is good to know but you could mention the brand and model of you tractors assuming not all are JD7530 as on the thread title. Retrofitting the valve is not equally simple for all tractors, don't know if it is for the majority.

Our tractors have been Fendt, claas the combine is new Holland and the sprayer is a knight. So a fair spread. Yes not a John Deere but I do know of plenty of jd’s that have been done this way that are not steer ready.

On our 720 SCR the steer valve was changed just after the warranty expired (the known Danfoss valve issue). The part was provided for free under good will but we had to pay for the work which was a bit more than 1000€. On a 900 series Fendt it would have been very simple.
