Hello...
im trying to find out if a panel mounted ear tag aerial can be connected to the Shearwell Walkabout pro handhel device?
Most people seem to want to sell a box of tricks to go with the automatic ear tag reader whereas if the reader can input to the Psion device, it makes the "extra" box of tricks superfluous?

thank you

Should be able to connect via Bluetooth if the panel reader has a Bluetooth connection.
I’ve used the Psion and Agrident reader (non shearwell) to send tags from the reader to a tru test weigh head.

panel doesnt have bluetooth - the ontes ive seen are in essence just the reader. you (I) need a box of tricks to drive it?
weve got a tru test weigh head, so want to get the auto reader working.
already got the Psion so trying to save buying another box of tricks?

What have you got? We’ve got stockrecorder linked to panel reader which is connected to a trutest xrp2 eid reader which connects by Bluetooth to the stockrecorder. Xrp2 and eziweigh7 linked by Bluetooth.

If I understand you correctly, you have the actual panel, I. E the antenna but not the box that powers the antenna?

I don't think the psion has the capacity or the connections to power the antenna.

That's what the box of bits does, you can get dual weigh heads/tag readers that connect and power the reading antenna then send both weight and tag number to the psion if need be.
