Automatic sheeps feeding

by the way I was inspired by this kind of slow feeder hay nets. Did you ever use it with sheeps?

I think the metal is safer maybe. Many years ago I was using electric netting and the sheep kept catching their ear tags in it. I also put a hay net (like for horses) in with a few lambs once and within 30 minutes one had managed to become completely tangled in it.:banghead:

I would be concerned about restricting intakes with that. To get maximum use of forage, you need them to eat truly 'ad-lib', which means no restrictions and perhaps accepting a little waste imo.

:)yes, maybe hay nets are not so suitable for small animals

I think you're right, this is not true ad-lib because the eating process is slowed down although it can simulate when the animal eat grass from the ground? at least the speed but clearly we are talking about different types of food.
Anyway the system needs a lot of testing and as you said a little waste is acceptable and unavoidable;)
