Indeed. The well pensioned ex civil service (and that covers a broad reach) and x employees of large corporations. I know them well. I was with a gang of them Yesterday evening. You missed in your list the lunching. Some Golf and Tennis. Plus as you say the dog walking - and it then they may come across the muck spreader. As they know what I do have had them come to my door before demanding to know if it is legal to spread this foul smelling stuff (nutripoo and poultry muck) that there treasured pooches seem to enjoy rolling in and eating. Ah well, we do live in a theme park after all.

I'm led to believe that kind of wife wears you down to the point you just want it to be over. They lure you in with promises of Provence etc, but as soon as you get the early retirement pension statement, it's suddenly time to redecorate the lounge; buy lots of pot pourri; and bromide in your museli to keep you under the thumb. Poor barstewards. I bet it's the incessant wive nagging that makes them into such complainers.

No matter which way the wind is blowing and despite obeying the rules and incorporating it fairly pronto, we have always heard of disquiet in the village. Now a phone call to environmental health will fairly soon be followed by a call to the EA!

That's a really interesting point.

My understanding is that if the HSE investigate you then you get a bill for the investigation regardless of the outcome but I could be wrong.

Maybe the EA see that as a useful model.....

In the strive to be self funding, it makes sense. I presume the majority of visits they make turn out to be a waste of time, so a £100 "attendance fee" to the caller, refundable if an offence has occured, would be a good deterrent to those who dial without thought.

There’s 330,000 allotments in the country as well as around 30,000 million gardens where people grow bits.

All this is, is another attack at shutting down U.K. ag plc. It started under Blair and has been continued by every government since. Importing food and selling carbon credits is what they want to do.

I said elsewhere that I had emailed the EA last Thursday (I think) ; auto reply - we may not reply for even more than the 20 working days that we are supposed to reply in - due to covid.

I had a reply from the EA today to say carry on then for this year and get your house in order for next year.

So now I have a whole year to build a much larger concrete pad and associated tanks and juice distribution systems and to dig up all my heavy wet clay and replace it with something more amenable to spring muck application.
