So do Thames, thankfully!
As do Anglian water!

EA say they're going to enforce a rule. Then give a derogation.
Makes one wonder what the point was of expending all the energy.

I surmise that they now realise that they decided to enforce the rules at the completely wrong time and without enough staff to enforce it?!
Something was needed to justify the cost of there new clipboards,EA say they're going to enforce a rule. Then give a derogation.

prepare for all the winter autumn sown arable producers to go ballistic....Personally I wouldn't allow spreading until,at least the end of April.
Or am I missing something ?
The Nfu couldn’t sort out a p**s up in a brewery.Have no fear, the NFU will sort it out -
Autumn spreading: NFU Live at 15:00 Thurs 19 Aug. Stuart Roberts will quiz EA on Farming Rules For Water. Ask questions & book here: https://bit.ly/3iUA6xi
As do United Utilities - for works already programmedAs do Anglian water!
It’s a real shame they have got one for this year the fallout if none of them could have spread would have been much better than a cop outI wonder what the basis for the derrogation is, and if they will be allowed to use the same reasoning next year
EA only interested in penalising the low hanging fruit. Mr Arkwright with three cows will get the bollocking for spreading one day early whereas watercos will be tipping and spreading on plenty of land. Although I'm sure they never spread before unsuitable weather or on land with already high indicides. It’s a real shame they have got one for this year the fallout if none of them could have spread would have been much better than a cop out

The water boards couldn’t spread above index 3 before all this malarkey kicked off. And they have a louder and unified voice with the EA.
They do their own testing. I have been stopped from using it on certain fields in the past. They are pretty strict about it all.Based on who samples? Farmers? And how many samples per year?
As above, they do the soil testing for heavy metals & P levels. Usually one sample per field before allocating tonnage to that field.Based on who samples? Farmers? And how many samples per year?
It does, yes. Although many of those I deal with have low Nitrate-N content so aren't particulalry affected.Presumably this is also affecting N containing wastes spread under deployment ? @360farmsupport
I absolutley agree with this.I think it is important, indeed I would urge everyone to tell the EA that they are using this RPS otherwise next spring they will shrug their shoulders and say it isn't affecting many farms so we can press on and ban outright autumn spreading beyond crop need. I sent my email this morning, if everyone informs them that they are using the RPS perhaps they will see sense?
They've not got the staff to chase important pollutions, they certainly don't have the staff to wait for a 'pollution' to occur......Applying for an RPS will give them a heads up that you do the dastardly deed?!
