Thank god for no tillage. Ground runs better, traction is easier, soil isn't saturated, green matter keeps the kit clean.

Fields that were sumoed after spuds are a mess. You just sink because no structure and then soils up the kit and traction is harder on soil thats been broken up

Ironicly I had some no tillers around a week ago and they reckon I stand a better chance of drilling than they do. sh!t clay is still sh!t clay however you try and dress it, and my structurless triod land which was moved in the dry and is in good condition will eventually dry with a bit of patience be it Dec or Jan

I won't deny that. I would imagine on crap clay if its not grass you'd have a build a system around drilling your crops earlyish.

Are your soils waterlogged at the moment? At the end of the day the seed can still grow in sh!t soils if not waterlogged its just we don't have the mechanical methods to do it as we wish.

Ours are waterlogged but so are or stubbles, normally we would want our clays drilled by the 15th oct but we haven't had 6" of rain In a Month in 5+ years

Everywhere is waterlogged at the moment , but one day it will stop raining, and sometime after that it will dry up enough to drill that is for sure , just need to sit back and be patient , I still have a acreage of stubble which was destined for winter beans, as and when we get close to drilling something I will have to change my drilling plan as I will stand little chance of getting beans into the stubble whereas I will have some tilled soil that will at some point take the weaving tine drill albeit shallower than normal

Curtains here , methinks , our ground generally gets wetter at this time of the year
Probably go to plan B next week , which is drill some ground that was destined for maize and swap things around a bit.
I’ve got three fields I’m fairly confident will drill behind a plough. One is a grass field I sprayed off last week. If I can do that, at least it will use up all the seed I’ve bought, as held back on buying it all this year.

That's all I want to do , get shut of what seed is here
