Yeah 4m drill. It's the Coulter's I'm informed are expensive, but should do 3 or 4 sets of discs before they are wanted. Was just wondering about the APM ones on the claydon on the basis of how we doubled our wear rates were halved swapping from originals to APM.

I don’t no sorry I was wondering how it compares to the weaving £££ wise with there only being 1 disc to change.

With a weaving when the big disc gets worn down to 14 inches we use it as a small disc
about 65 acres per disc then used as small disc
54 discs by 3500 acres
each disc does 65 acres as big disc en 65 acres as small disc
I've done 1150ha with my 3m, then put worn big disc as small disc, new big discs and bearings cost £60.65 each, so £1091.70 to redo the 3 m (18 discs), I had replaced 15 bearings in that time, but I have now got the bearings off the worn small discs to use, so they're negated to a point. My maths says 94.9p per ha, or 39.3p per acre in discs and bearings so far.
Seems pretty cheap to me considering it's saving me all sorts of wearing metal, diesel, tractor hrs, chemical bills.
I'm not on abrasive ground as a whole though, small areas here and there only.

cant believe how well oe have lasted ! 15k acres plus on ours and will still be good for spring work

plan to replace with a set from Borgault tillage when time comes as best value ……… “apparently “ maybe “similar” manufacturers to most OE discs
