going through our records tonight, 5 pure and 3 x aryshires to bull after xmas, we bought a ped aryshire bull, to 'sweep' a bunch of heifers', posted before, we have had many more calves, than we dreamt of. Mainly from the cows, but never saw the bugger out much ! Very nice calves, pity he went TB, no vis lesions, but being ped, valuer put a satisfactory compensation figure on him !

surprisingly soft, expected them to be 'hard'. Nice looking cows, production could be better. but have had trouble post calving, 3 done the splits, not normal for us. The bulling hfrs, we bought, slow growing, despite, worm'/fluke/ min bolus, a dear enough purchase, and, got to keep your eye on them, with their calf, i was 'banned' from going into the calving yard, when they were still in there, need two sticks to get around, bending the sticks, by hitting a cow, not the best idea, and in case anyone thinks the worst, anyone can walk, with difficulty, through our cows, they love to inspect you, in the hope of a scratch.

A current farm.favourite , West Mossgiel Quality , just calved her 5 th calf a couple of weeks ago after moving here In August from Bryce Cunningham`s West Mossgiel herd !
She's really adapted to the new system currently giving 62 litre s a day , the most any of our cows have given In 11 years of robot milking , on average she's milked 5 times a day so her udder is never over full , she's put on 30 kg in weight since calving so she's looking after herself aswell as working hard !!
Just needs a classification visit and a proper picture taken !!
Diet just silage & WC Barley , no fancy tmr ! Just as much as she wants to eat !! + 2 kg of barley / blend home mix and up to 11 kg of dairy nuts in the robot !!
