Not a criticism of you @upnortheast but is it not a bit odd to have the society visits on the same day as the sale at Carlisle?

Doesn’t suggest much thought has gone into either. I know a few breeders who would like to be at both.

Date was out of our hands. Usually the Ayrshire Conference tour is in May. This year circumstances meant they could only manage a mini version. So they are staying at Alnwick, Wednesday visiting Morwick ( Michael is retiring president ) having their AGM, then Thursday morning here.
Isn`t the sale at Borderway on Wednesday just a general dairy sale with a few Ayrshires entered ?

Yes it is, but sadly that’s what passes as a national sale at the moment, not going to get any better if the society
Organised events which clash.

I’m quite concerned about the Ayrshire society, they seem to operate in a bubble where an elite group of breeders do what suits them. It’s pains me to see the lack of inroads the breed makes in commercial herds, they should be growing quickly in grazing herds.
