Is the payment for the period there are pigs in the shed or for the cleaning period too? What’s the stocking rate on ave ?
How are the pigs fed ? Self feed hoppers I guess ? Who owns them, filled with Telehandler I guess.
Just starting to look at this as have 1200 sq m shed that might fit the job.

Payment is considerably higher for slatted purpose built sheds.
Much easier work and lower cost to operate.

But the buildings are purely pig sheds with lower ability to use for other purposes.

He put it all up for sale on here.
Looking after someone else’s stock is a financial waste of time, the highlight of the whole thing could be muck if you are in deepest Norfolk or Suffolk with 3000 acres of arable and an aged parent you want to keep out of your way.
what makes you say that? its a very different feeling when we first did it to what we were used to, as you are in charge but not in charge.

I think you have answered your question with your reply. For many I have known it is ‘next step, pack up’, whether pigs, calves, or someone’s in calf dairy heifers.

wouldnt say its next step pack up. to a certain degree for us its improving our farm business. We can have a part time stock man/worker to make my life a bit easier and not argue with dad all the time. :ROFLMAO:

You would need to be thinking that straw used this autumn winter would need to be priced into your BB equation at £80 ton considering your location.
