You would need to be thinking that straw used this autumn winter would need to be priced into your BB equation at £80 ton considering your location.

We do straw for muck to help that.

Best deal is - offer the company the site to lease, they put a building up, you manage the site at their cost ( real cost not farmers cost) They buy all services at commercial rates, pay for Dead stock removal, pay for wash down of site at commercial rate. I think you will find they run a mile but that is where it should be. The deal is only good for them. Your capital locked into their business especially with specialist housing.

Exactly. Put up B & B pig shed, for which planning is relatively straight forward, then when you get fed up get change of use.

9 weeks for 7kg to get to roughly 45kg here. Who’s offering that? Seems a very good price

I’d be surprised if they only keep them to 30kg. More like 40. That lowers the weekly rate. Maybe 9week turnaround instead of 7

It’s the old farrowing house. Crates are sold,solid steel 3/8 rod slatted floor still there. Make pen divisions out of stock board. Don’t think you could keep them much beyond 30 kg in those pens.

It’s N Ireland..you wouldn’t know them. Big demand for contract rearers/finishers over here. Men taking out big loans to build for contract finishing.

What's the view on future trade deals if cheaper pork was to come in from the USA as has been threatened with beef and chicken?

I think demand for pork in China would probably have more effect on the market than imports from USA?
