#backbritishfarmingday

If only the NFU would #backbritishfarming :( 🙄 (n)
TBF.. The NFU have spent the morning making sure that their instagram story is full of #backbritishfarming posts from all the other farming instagram channels

But then as mentioned above.. it's only ones with vested interest that follow these accounts so probably a slim to zero chance that it will engage with a lay person

So on Back British Farming day the NFU-

Got hundreds of MPs to pledge support for our Industry.

Enabled questions on agriculture at PMQs.

Promoted a Westminster Hall debate on farming.

Gained widespread press attention by Minette and Jeremy Clarkson sharing a joint platform to promote and defend agriculture.

Useless indeed…

Twitter is just full of farmers and people in the agricultural industry telling each other to back British farming, absolute waste of time.

Was all over Instagram as well, but don't let that spoil things 👍
Irrelevant. It’s farming people telling farming people to back the industry they work in. The reach is pathetic and no one seems to realise how futile it is. We all know social media is an echo chamber with its algorithms.

And if they didn't make an attempt, they would be shot down in flames by another group of farmers. Can't win either way.

TFF is social media as well.

Are you saying the reach of this is also pathetic?

TFF is a specialist forum so yes the reach in an advertising sense is pathetic.
they have also managed to run a whole campaign and fail to include red tractor on it which is ‘supposed’ to be our point of difference. Absolutely useless.

TFF is still social media, public open forum.

As I said some want the NFU to distance themselves from RT, some want it to support it tooth and nail.

Can't win either way can they?

Which is why there was a sizeable in person presence at Westminster.

Exactly, no praise for that forthcoming though.

I am sure there are plenty of NFU bashers in here and said,
"What we need is Jeremy Clarkson on side promoting UK ag"

Well he is, so where is the praise? 🙄🤣🤣

Getting Jeremy clarkson on board is the best thing they’ve done in years Atleast he has some reach.
