so "taking back control of are borders" means all but the only land border that we have that we going to leave open for anyone/thing to cross freely. can't wait to see the ragtop's/dailyfail headline when there a terrorist attack to find that it was carried out by a french Muslim who legally crossed into Ireland, stepped freely into UK with not one person asking him a question, and goes on to do a Manchester style attack

If a French muslim wants to carry out a terrorist attack in the UK, he will make his way here regardless of whether we have a hard border/soft border or no border at all.
To get into mainland UK he would have to take a plane/boat, then bus/train/car then another plane/boat running the risk of being detected at any of these points. Probably easier for him to cross the English Channel in a dingy.

The amount of people here "illegally" already they haven't a clue, allegedly.

We are an island after all.

What's difficult to stop and check ?

If you got no issues then you have nothing to worry about ?,simple! :scratchhead:

A couple of points, if he/she is on a watch list then he/she would be picked up by the irish border teams on entry from france, doubt they would let him in, and if not on any watch list he would just come over via a ferry or channel tunne just like every other french/any eu tourist will and just how we will still visit them,

free movent across the irish border pre dates the eu so the eu can feck off if the want a border they can put one up, its sounds like that would be fun to watch :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

the CTA predates the EU which is a VISTA free travel zone(as well as other things like the right to work/live/health care and ed in each country), you have always had to show Photo ID on demand

just because (s)he is on a UK watch list doesn't mean (s)he is going to be on a EU/Ireland watch list once we leave, and i've never seen them asking for ID at all on the Ferry to/from france (from/to ireland) so who know who coming in/out

but we missing my point. why once we leave will it be all right to have armed guards and full custom/passport control on one border and not another

What watch list would they be on though? The plebs have voted to leave the Europol databases behind when we leave the EU.

So you'd be happy for people move unchecked in and out of the EU to the UK as easily as they do within the UK?

After being promised that we would take control of our borders, I would see that as a breach of that promise to us!
They want "the penny and the bun", free movement and borders will always need checks unless the whole island or Ireland is the same as the whole island of Great Britain I guess .
They all got to work together.
The Continent is made up of individual Countries with borders and so far free movement occurs but soon as they want to close they can possibly.
Politicians and area Governments will have to change to solve this issue.
