Bad back / muscle spasm

I just fill up with ibuprofen and try to keep going but been careful. I usually find things ease after a day or 3 and ibuprofen is cheaper than a chiropractor visit.

Strangely I have less back issues now than I had 15 years ago when it all started. But over the years have upgraded all tractors etc to ones with suspension and decent seats, and got a pickup with an auto gearbox. Which I think has helped a lot.

hug your knees, and use your bum as a pivot, and rock side to side, and front to back, but be careful what you do, don't be stupid. I was, ended up unable to stand, or sit, in hosp for 3 weeks before they would operate, 3 yrs to get over it, then I stupidly started milking again, emergency spinal surgery again, ####### did it again, not so bad, but they can't operate again, now disabled, walk with 2 sticks. Let my stupidity, and stubbornness be a warning to others, you only have 1 spine !!!!!

Hot bath. Pain killers and don't do anything daft. Very gentle walking to mantain flexibility.
Have the same problem here for past week, had a nice long soak in the bath last night instead of the usual shower, took a couple of nurofens afterwards & woke this morning a hell of a lot better....you can’t beat a long hot bath in these situations?

Spasms are agony. Lie on your back on the floor with a tennis ball either side of the base of your spine. The pressure helps to relieve the spasm. Or, if you can't get down there, press a fist as hard as you can either side instead and swear roundly. Keep moving all day. Hope it soon eases.

try to lay in "semi supine position", it helps to release the tension and should be for at least 20 minutes, then roll onto all fours to get up, otherwise it is possible to undo all the good getting up.

Be careful not to be on that combo for too long. My wife was on it after 2 partial knee replacements and it buggered the lining of her stomach.

I had amitriptline, tramadol and naproxen washed down with liquid morphine for to long and that had the same affect on my stomach due to long term back pain.
