Bad place to park....

This is what probably happened when the owner returned to his car, the car not being cheap. First a call to a recovery firm or the AA
Then one to his insurance company
Then one to a local taxi firm, to take him home.
In due time, the insurance co will be after the farmer as it was deliberate damage, and they will be far more interested in getting their money back than the police ever would be, and they will contact farmers insurance co, who, what ever the outcome will put his premiums up next renewal, thats if they offer cover at all.
The car could well be a write off, slurry will have penetrated into heater ducts etc and dried there, and will be almost impossible to remove.
I am full of sympathy for the farmer, but the action was stupid to say the least, and may well be being regretted by now.

I'm sure the merc driver didn't see it but I reckon their was a sign on the gate saying "no parking, parking at own risk, land owner not responsible for any damage" and my advice would be do not except a police caution for threatening behaviour, if they were to come and interview you, after you've had a chat with the driver,.

Car was only sprayed with slurry, why would it not be driveable. No different to being caught in a heavy downpour.

As for the car owner getting his insurers involved, I doubt they would look at it given the vehicle was parked on private property.

owner! chances are on monthly payments.
In that case, his finance company could get involved, and they are larger sharks than the insurance!
Farming types in a similar situation would wade through to the car, and scrape the windscreen clear and drive off. Townies how ever, would want the slurry analysed and checked for heath hazards etc. They would not go near the car until that was done, and even then, would claim the car was made unusable, fragrance, memories etc etc!

I bet they wouldn't park there again
