Just to prove I don't know everything I thought I'd post this morning's events. Both sons out on the beer last night so I was in charge this morning. Lambing due to start around the fifth of march so it was bound to kick off before long in any case. Got up this morning to find a cull ewe had lambed. She had twins but only one quarter and a very bad eye infection which is why she is still here.
Then had an ewe with one dead and one live which had also prolapsed. Took her to the vet to fix up. Left the live lamb in the van with her whilst I did something else and the feckin bitch lay on top of it.
Then had a triplet ewe lambing. Got all three out alive just about. Went to the house to mix some colostrum and by the time I went back one lamb was dead and another on his last legs. He died too.
Oh the joys of lambing. Anyhow, I'm the one who always tells everyone not to worry about bad starts and dead lambs but to concentrate on the ones that are still alive. So onwards and upwards eh.
