Quite keen on one of these, but ould welcome any user experiences. One particular question is can you drop it off and pick it up without dropping the bed, i.e. if using it behind a loader which only has one service for the pickup hitch & trailer, and involves swapping pipes etc.

Many thanks

We use them to shift slurry equipment about never drop them flat to be honest. Sold the oldest one last year, can’t remember last time the bed had needed to be dropped.

We drop ours to the floor for digger's and implement's too wide for the road but leave the body raised for bales, fert and seed corn and just lower the drawbar onto a sleeper when we drop it off the loadall.
Think only down sides are the low ground clearance and they're very lazy on corners so sometimes have to be on the wrong side of a main road to turn into a tight gateway.

As all above mine is only 5 meters and 4 ton carrying capacity but can be really useful moving cultivators to wide for the road ,did some reseeding last year managed to get roll cultivator spreader on so only one journey moves combi as well!

I have a 4.8 metre drop bed for shifting my tracked post driver about. I do like it although it turns like a boat in the corners. In relation to your question regarding spools, it uses two spools. One for operating the rams for lifting it up and down and the other lifts or drops the stoppers.

Thanks all- presumably then you can just leave it raised all the time and not worry about plugging in the hoses, and just drop the drawbar on a block when dropping it off with the loader.

Presumably though that it can be a pain when you want to reconnect the pressurised hoses if you need to drop the bed?

There should be chocks on the rams to take the pressure off the hydraulic system.
