Bailey or Fleming

I have never seen a Bailey up close but have experience of Fleming,
Buy a Bailey.

Looking at new 16 tonne trailer, priced up Bailey and Fleming, both look good, both around same price and near enough identical specs

what’s everyone’s thoughts on which to go for

Actually when righted there was hardly a mark on the fleming, straight as a die just a few scrapes.
Three reasons why it couped.
Cubes of water were at the front over the drawbar.
Alwyn had her pinned on the hand throttle to the point he was steering with the side brakes.

When buying grain trailers ,new,make sure you compare the “cubic capacity of the body”, for what ever tonnage trailer you are wishing to buy, as in the past I noticed in the brochures it can vary quite considerably,irrespective of manufacturer

The Fleming stuff was made to a budget to gain market share. Their early toppers etc rusted away . I suspect their quality is on the rise. They have a proper paint shop etc now. I would say they are here to stay and might be a major contender in the future. Not sure they're quite there yet. I have a 10yr old fleming tanker that sits out and has no rust yet. I wouldn't be paying 2k extra for same spec different brand tanker.

I’ve got a 12t Fleming that I bought last summer secondhand. It has sprung drawbar, floatations and hyd tail door.
it was cheap off a local Indy dealer, but that was the brief I gave him.
hopefully in a few years I will be in more of a position to swap it for a Bailey, Stewart or AW.
It does what it says on the tin, but I wouldn’t expect it to be as durable as other makes.
Also, the chassis isn’t a big in the steel as our other 12t trailers, but it may be harder steel?

If the Bailey and the Fleming are the same price for the same spec then it's either a great deal on the Bailey or a bad deal on the Fleming because the two trailers are aimed at different ends of the market.

No i don,t think so, I thought it was round about practise for the maize and spud boys!!!

Is it recently bought

Not within the last 5-7 years but you should expect many times that before things crumble. As said above they are built to a budget.
