Bale sizes.

Quick question. What's the difference between a hesston bale and a quadrant bale? Had 2 dealers offer to buy rape straw both offered £8 a bale but two different bale sizes.thinking the quadrant the better deal?

Both Claas and Heston make more than one size baler, if in doubt ask them for bale dimensions

Different people call them different things but a quadrant is 120x70 and a Heston is 120x130 so same width nearly double as tall

There is also 80x50, 80x70, 80x90 and 120x90 (approximate measurements)

Interesting the minimum hp requirements in this chart. I don't suppose anybody uses a tractor as small as some quoted on any of these balers!!

I agree. However there's a chap nearby who uses a JD 3140 on a 3x3 baler. Steady job but a good back up to the main baler.
