Bale trailer question....weight related

Morning,

Say I had a 10T trailer, good solid trailer not done a lot of work but my bales are best part of 800kgs a bale and it'll currently cart 14 with ease when loaded correctly. Two one side at the front then two the other then loaded as normal to stop any flex at the front...

How would you think it'd go on with another three at the back? It'd take 17 of any other baler but my fusion makes such big bales I cant get the last two on the bottom but if I were to change the back ladder rack I'd have enough space to sit the last bale on and hold it in, that make sense? Just worried I'd be massively over loading it and would cause some serious damage to it... it's to tidier of a trailer to cock it up

Marshall 10T 26ft in question, thoughts please as I know we all overload them but how much can they take? Be best part of 4T overloaded and that's 40% more than it was designed to carry, am I better looking for a stronger trailer or stop being a mard and carry on carting 14 a time

Cheers all

Does it not sink like f**k, I’m hard ground in summer and those kind of weights leave marks
No, shes on good wide tyres, never leaves a mark :)
Depends on the tyres as much as anything, but if you had an accident on the road(even if clearly not your fault)you would be in trouble.
Tyres are very good.
No road work here. All in a ring fence (I'm very lucky I know)

Just stack em like cotton reels. Then go 3 or 4 high depending on the level of excitement needed.
Jesus no :ROFLMAO: My ground aint the kind of place you can stack like that. It's on steep banks and undulates so a single rider is the most can carry. It really twists a trailer bed and makes you think what the actual capacity is before a twist becomes permanent as such

I should leave the trailer well alone then and it might be better for it long term to load it a bit lighter in future. I know some trailers bend and wobble but that can't be doing it much good long term, especially over less than smooth terrain.

This is a 2003 Marshall 25 foot , 10 tonne.

I can get 17 on because of the sloping back lade.

10 tonne is plenty enough for 12.5/80-15.3 tyres.

Extend it for hay and straw, then just put a single layer or 12 + 2 for heavy grass. I've seen plenty of trailers and tyres wrecked by overloading. Even if the tyres are up to the job, axles and drawbars can bend too.

Yeah that was my concern also, just before I go full idiot it's always nice to check

Neighbour has an old 26 foot Marshall trailer

17 at a time on their can for a good 3 mile trip between fields and farm (it's very "rural" up here in the hills), average bale weight yesterday was 900 kg

They might not look Clyde built like a broughan, but those Marshalls are robust!

Some of them are stronger than others. I believe they have a few trailers the same length but with different weight ratings and options for faster towing speeds.
Know that the 28 foot that I have is rated for 14 tonne which I think takes you to the legal limit

Couldn't tell you the rating of the neighbours 26 foot. It's on super singles, but only 8 stud axles with piddling wee brake drums. Wouldn't like to think how many thousand tonnes of silage and straw it's hauled
