Bale wrap prices

Having starred a bale wrap thread earlier asking about orbital wrap, have any of you had wrap prices recently? Orbital are sub £50/ roll but of unknown quality to me. I want a pallet full to come out to me in France ( that bit irrelevant really) I don’t want a pallet full of problems! Any idea on prices yet?

I had some orbital 2 years ago and found it very poor for sticking, tails unwinding all over the place and wouldn't use it again.

Mole valley quoted £46 this week for some make I've never heard of, bigger manufacturers haven't released any prices yet apparently.

I used orbital nett and wrap last year, nett was excellent but the wrap kept snapping on the wrapper and you could see though it when stretched compared to more expensive makes so I won’t use that again
Thank you, you are the third negative comment so far on orbital with no positive! That’s made my mind up! But now to find something decent at a decent price! It fairly dear over here, silotite 70.5€/ roll. ?

Hey, I was serving for anybody using orbi wrap. I've been offered it straight from the manufacturer for £46 per roll. It's cheap but not only can o find nobody who's uses it, I can't find it on any other websites apart from their own.
I've done a little research and the coloured/black wrap is 25 microns and the clear is 30 microns thick. And I got to play around with it at their stand at Lamma. It seemed very tacky

Yes I had same price Friday after they quoted £57 for it 2 weeks ago! Pallets only so if it’s crap it is an expensive mistake. The clear is used in their waste packing side I believe. The woman selling it says it is made in Europe which I guess is a better start than china lol ?. I am put off by the comments so far!

Hey I read this feed earlier on in the year before ordering net and plastic wrap. I'd seed orbital wrap on a stand at lamma. And just like a few of you guys I thought this could be a potential expensive mistake.
Long story short I couldn't get wrap delivered by any of the big guys, silotite, Zeus etc. Something to do this 2020 prices ? had me waiting weeks. And I flippin hate this "dealership" style talk, just tell me how much a roll costs.
Aaannyway I ended up ordering a pallet of 25micron green from orbital and a bunch of net for the baler. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. The net is great goes right to the edge of the bale and sits really easily and tightly. I made some wet stalky silage and 2 layers of net holds it in well.

The wrap too is brilliant, I've been applying it to Lucerne haylage so very stalky stuff and in the heat we had 2 weeks ago, I had no tears and it covered up the stalks really well. I managed to buy a couple of rolls of Zeus and silotite and in my opinion, way better than both and under £50 per roll. Total bargain. And like their stand said at lamma, it's really tacky and there's no "tails" of wrap flapping about

Plus before lockdown they were doing 24hr shipping

Thank you for being the ginnea pig! I might have a pallet next year!

Have you found it here Matthew?
No I was debating about importing a pallet. Price was £46/roll pallet was less than £200 but that put the price up around £4.50/roll on 40 rolls/pallet. With the exchange rate I seem to recall it ended up not being much less than the cheaper stuff I buy from the co op. The woman who sell it for Orbital said she could deliver direct foc if I took a container full! not sure I could shift that much here not knowing any one!!

how many pallets?:nailbiting:

from my veg growing days I recall 22?

I would be tempted to ask for a price on the Barbier 5 layer stuff . Its French and IMO one of the best we have used for a while .
We re using the budget Zeus 5 layer , nothing to write home about . £47.50 a roll Our supplier we use , didnt give us much choice unfortunately !

I would like to try some Orbi -wrap ,made in Tamworth . :)

This is one of the bales wrapped with orbital wrap, see what I mean about the long tail

Maybe they have improved it since, (this was 2018 wrap), but I still wouldn't buy it again.
