Bale wrap tax

All the folk on here slagging NFU but quite happy to take the benefits of their hard fought lobbying.
imho only members should be exempt from the tax as it’s their subs that have helped NFU to fight the industry’s corner

Not slagging NFU. Don’t pay NFU. Do not pay wrap tax. Gain nothing from NFU lobbying.

I rather doubt that, if involved in productive agriculture, you gain nothing from NFU lobbying. Member or not.

Is there a "TFF dump the wrap tax" group akin to the one on elms?
Or should we as an industry be reliant on the treasury engaging with us so that they can collect less revenue? I haven't seen a HMTreasury account on here.

Was referring to this issue of single use plastic, tax or not I wouldn’t have to pay it.

For the industry not to have to pay the tax is a win, well done all round.
All I’ve done is point out that the reason they gained the relief is probably open to challenge in the future.

All this NFU controversy has gotten far too bitter and personal. NFU have made some indefensible comments to describe entire swathes of farmers but I’ve said on here before I’ve felt some go after NFU too aggressively, whether that inspires an automatic knee jerk defence to any perceived slight against them could explain why it’s become such a polarising issue, black and white is obviously controversial and even grey comments like my own are unwelcome.
