its supposed to help weaning check, a lot to do with the effects of the creep on the rumen I thought? surely a bit creep is more cost effective than feeding expensive silage to both cow and calf?

why is the silage expensive ?

Just been quoted £54/Roll for 750 green Silotite, quite competitive i thought. £47/Roll for 500mm Green Silotite which seems a bit dear to me. That was from Ernest Doe

If you cut shorter silage you need to do two cuts, twice as much fert plus tedding etc?

it would cost a bit more but at least it would be worth having, our cows wouldn't eat 17 bale to the acre silage

Just a heads up for anyone needing a quantity of wrap or net prices are out now,for an early deal you can get top quality edge to edge net for around £130 for 3600m and 750 black wrap for £50/roll.I don't think these prices will last after end of March.Several companies in the SW have these prices.
