Baler twine prices

Just paid £31 for 7,200 feet , quite happy with that , most things have gone up 20% plus

Excuse the pun but it’s like saying how long is a piece of string.
We get the larger spool sizes for both the bale packer and conventional baler from Cordex. For example the larger spools mean we get 900 bales out of pack of 9250 ( trucker ) twine which mean that we can thump out 2700 bales before we need the load more twine. Swapping the packer from 7200 ( to be fair it didn’t really like it ) to 8600 increased the pack numbers from 120 packs from the 7200 to 200 packs from the 8600, both the conventional size spools.

Can you get rat proof twine?
We've been picking through our elderly neighbours hay to help her, and of course ourselves to what is still good hay and the biggest problem is the ratties have ate the strings rendering the bales immobile.

Ouch, I think I've been quite badly stung!

I nearly ran out, so needed a couple of balls in a hurry to finish off, so rang the nearest main dealer to see if they'd got some. I ended up with 4 packs, a ball for each string feed, just in case.
New Holland branded.
I didn't think to ask the price, and now I know. . . £58.30 a pack 😱😱 (plus VAT on top of that)
They've 'kindly' knocked 10% off when I wailed, but there's not a lot I can do about it now some of it's wrapped around bales 😪
I would say it's a lesson learnt, but I've no doubt I'll get caught again soon, they're good at that!
