Balers; second hand br7070 or new roll belt 150

Morning all,
I’ve currently got two offers from my local case dealer for a new round baler, the first is a second hand 2014 new Holland br7070 crop cutter with only 4000 bales, obviously it’s pretty immaculate, they’re asking 18.5k€ for it.
the second is new case rb455 ( nh roll belt 150) it was a demo machine that never did any bales due to the wet summer we have had here, it’s well specced but with no knives, they’re offering it to me for 31000€ with a 2yr warranty which is supposedly a fairly big saving over new price.
the salesman is pushing the new one (obviously) however I can’t decide, I’m sure the case will be faster than the new Holland up the row, but I’m led to believe the br’s are good reliable machines and I’ve heard some horror stories about the new ones, and I’m not sure which is better value really..
which would you go for and why?
any input appreciated

Every single RB baler round here has been replaced with McHale. sadly NH lost the plot with the RB design and made several fairly major cock up of even the most basic things!
we had 4 of them over a 3 year period and the best thing I did was swap it for a V660.

The 7070 isn’t a bad machine but slower than the modern stuff and won’t pack as much in a bale, Build quality isn’t as good as the competition either so high bale counts will lead to reliability issues!

I looked at one a couple years ago, then ended up with a krone, that now gone these are the two best options I have at the moment. Being a 2021 built machine is there a chance the issues have been sorted out?
i do like the look of the 7070 tbh, and it’s a lot less money for a machine with only a few thousand bales, what’s the difference in output between the two?

RB series is worth an extra gear output wise over the 7070 RB also has drop floor which is handy.

personally if you not got massive amounts to do buy the 7070 if your intending to do several thousand a year buy a different brand of baler!

The recent RBs are a very nice baler; I’ve sold a few now with no issues at all- and they make a cracking bale! Very simple to use, with some nice ‘comfort’ features as well.

Have NH sorted the net storage out yet on them? On the ones we had the rear box was a stupid design compared to the 7060 and it was a right chew getting a roll of net out.

There’s still a rear box, hinges at the bottom. I don’t struggle too much, and I’m a short arse! There’s also storage above the active roll, which in fairness is a stretch.

Yes I never liked the rear box and the front storage isn’t the best, Other makes have storage of net a lot better sorted Imo.

I have heard of a NeW design baler coming out by NH at some point but not seen any real detail yet.

What do you call comfort features? Are they a real step up from the 7070 and will it be as reliable? And most importantly is it worth an extra 13k over an immaculate 7070?

My uncle who has the most hours on our RB 180 reckons it's a different animal to the BR 7060 and his 750 A. I won't comment too we have only got 4500 bales on her in the first season on the RB. I have only really put 10 odd good hours on her but we like it so far. Did have trouble with the net knife falling off and need to be welded warranty job. Luck we have to an old girl around which is the BR 7060 with 38### rolls on her and only really had trouble with the net wrap knife actuator(still worked but only on manual and once had to be welded up). (we only have the two balers since we now have two baler operators and been in Aus hay baling is only achieved with good dewie morrings so the more we can push on the better).

Auto net wrap, hydraulic drop floor as standard- hydraulic rotor reverse as an option and Intellibale, which would stop the tractor, wrap the bale and open the tailgate with no operator input. They’re a good baler for silage or sticky grass, as well as straw- the core of the bale is formed with rollers, which is the bit the belts find hardest. Worth an extra 13k? I can’t answer that- depends on how many bales you do, whether it’s you or an employee, what your priorities are and any potential issues you have currently, and how each baler would address them.

What baler is not sold with auto net wrap today?

Why buy either of them?
McHale or Welger seem to be the top sellers at the moment.
