Who pays the plastic? Farmer? You can buy a decent 2nd hand fusion for 20k and it wont depreciate much
Believe me that they don't run for free as last year my Fusion 2 needed 2x new tyres, chains, pickup cam + legs and bearings, a new roller + sprocket and a heap of bearings and housing's and 2x film sensors and ones of those film sensors has already failed this year and my dealer wasn't interested in foc replacement (this would have been close on 5k in repairs as several jobs were dealer fitted)

£8 a bale my mate payed for contractors to come for 1 field got 200 bales stacked in the corner.
They
Mowed
Racked
Baled 4ft chopped
Rapped x6
Stacked in the corner near the gate
There fuel.

Is there any profit for the contractor at this price ?
(Do not know size of field)
No on profit at all may not cover costs if employed labour

And then you have a guy with 3 acres that keeps a Baler and a wrapper stopped for hour and a half each over 20 bales because he refused a rake that passed the field 20 minutes in front of the Baler so they can hitch up a Gaybob at leisure:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Just dreaming up my surcharge fee as I write!!!!
All Ideas gratefully received

Bales per hr x charge per bale x 1.5 hrs.
Simple.

I don't work for people that f**k me about now. Life is too short.

I feel very much the same as have 3 x small customers that probably give me 90% of the grief. One had 2 x Fusions and a rake in his for 20 bales (2 field's) and one gateway was so muddy the Fusions couldn't enter due to 45cm deep slurry mud for 30ft and the tractor and rake barely made back out and a repeat trip was needed to Bale 9 bales out of the 20 after a digger had laid some stone but the rake tractor was covered and all the customer said was why hadn't I sent a smaller Baler!!!!

Despite not contracting with my farm machinery, I've been talked into baling and wrapping 30acres this afternoon.

How much should I charge per bale?:ROFLMAO:

£7.25 per bale here with 4 layers of plastic. Contractor supplies the diesel and the wrap. There are some who are charging as little as £6, but their lighter bales make them more expensive.

I thought the were fairly bulletproof, the tyres etc wont need done for a while again how many bales it done?

That's about what I estimate my costs at for the whole job with my own kit so no, no profit.

Mowing £11/acre
Tedding £5
Rowing up £5

I pay £7 chopped bale, 4'6'', with 6 layers of wrap.
Bales weigh around 750kg

Anyone selling wrapped silage for £10, needs to look at their costs!

10- 12 bale/acre crop here left in pit, mostly 4 mile cart, 22l per acre diesel, tedded, one new pit cover, 3 labour units for 3 hours to cover comes in at £70.
Even the cheapest baling contractor wouldn't come close!

Around 50k but tread was good but side wall's kept leaking even tho filled with Gunk. Tried a major repair on a couple of stone cuts but that cost half price of new tyres and they then leaked worst than ever.
