Thankyou for all the replies and help.
Job now done. Chap decided not to wrap.
Going to charge
£12 acre mowing
£4 to Ted only haybob did it 4 times
£5.50 to Rake
£2.65 to bale
Probably should be more but decent neighbours are worth a few pennies off.

Is the mower a conditioner? Seems a bit steep to me, but very fair on the rest.

why get hung up on a quid here and there on mowing, or any job for that matter. If someone can get to you when you want them and works to a high standard is £50 or whatever really worth haggling over? Ive had guys asking why I charged them 10p per bale more than they heard someone else was charging,I made 200 bales for them. £20 ffs!!

On a related topic, I have been asked to help out a hobby neighbour with their 3-4 acre paddock. Mow with 2 drum, ted as required, row up and round bale with string, then probably cart bales to corner of field. Will be fitted in with some of my work at the same time, so less on and off of machinery...! Yonks since I was involved in such operations, thank goodness!

£10-12/bale all in?

And very often Mr Dirt Cheap cuts down on turns of netwrap and uses the cheapest nastiest Bale wrap available in very limited amounts.

This happened to you?

Afraid so yes ... just out of warranty ... Mchale did cover the roller though, which helped, but the chains and electrics and brake cable and hydraulic pipes it fudged added up ... the dealer also lent me a machine to keep me going so can’t complain too much .
