Baling brassica.

Beginning May I put 10acre of Typhon mixed with kale as drought insurance crop. Month later its growing a treat as is grass etc. Thinking of double cropping by cutting and baling mid July and replanting same mix for winter grazing.
Been reading old threads and not v.inspiring but seems very little evidential experience.
Anybody hereabouts ever actually baled kale, leafy greens. Seems with good weather for 3 day wilt and extra net with supple stems such young plants and bale additive? Got to be worth punt in interest of scientific experiment.
Got to be baled, no clamp or facility for pit silage.

I baled plenty of kale around 20years ago. Fantastic food but don't rake it and pick up the opposite direction to the mower cut it. Extra netwrap and plenty of Bale wrap is needed. We always applied an additive.

Don't let the kale get to stalky and I have seen it regrown and then strip grazed without reseeding due to mowers clean cut instead of being chewed by cows
It's a fantastic feed but has a massive moisture content tho so works out expensive for dry matter harvested.

Does Typhon not regrow if you graze it?:scratchhead: If so, it would surely regrow after mowing, as long as you didn't scalp it. I suspect kale would do the same if you cut it quite young.

It'll be an interesting experiment, if nothing else.(y)
