Bamford Wuffler

Picked a Wuffler up today for a bit of light work next year - can anyone advise what tyre size would it have been on when new?
Will tidy it up and paint it - are there any Paint Codes for the Yellow and Blue?
Guards are all present - need tidying up a bit and some light metal bashing - any advice on what is the best welder for 2 mm thick ?
There is Bamford loose handle with a curve in it in yellow and a roller at one end - is that something to do with changing tines?
Don't suppose the correct PTO guards in blue are available.

Thanks all

They were OK in their day - our only alternative was an Acrobat then.

Bit slow though, you only did one 5' swath at a time.
Ill disagree it did nether one thing nor another ime.
they never turned hay just 'wuffled ' :sneaky:it up and when tried to be used on straw just to get some use out of it the beldy thing bunged up for a past time

Dad bought one to assist an ancient Nicolson side rake /swath turner ( could be configured to do both) now boy did that actually turn the swath , right over , and raked pretty well as well ....
it just looked like something from a bygone age .

Thanks for all snippets of info - I can see drawbar adjustment by changing bolt holes so maybe the Handle is for adjusting Stand - as it was dropped inside top of box section that makes up stand - tines look like they Twist on to base - one wheel still Blue and 15 in diameter tyre so maybe 5.00 x 15 three rib - has landrover /car tyre on at the moment -

it is as said above its to 'lever' when raising /lowering the drawbar , as its not a heavy machine either.
you raise and lower the draw bar angle to deal with different types of stuff , long or short , big or smaller swath of hay.

Unless you really want to keep it original, convert it to 3 point linkage. You won't regret it.
Turn the drawbar up vertical and it makes a good A-frame as a starting point. Brace the top of the drawbar onto each back corner of the hood, with a couple pieces of 50mm box section, and you're half way there.

Tines are available from Kramp

But you'll probably have to order through your local dealer. I don't think they deal direct with the peasants

Broken tines can be unscrewed with a punch. New ones will screw on with a stillson wrench. The new tines come with a sharp leading edge on the coil which digs into the baseplate. File that off and it will be much easier to screw on.

You can get a third-party account with Kramp through some dealers. So you can order on the webshop or app with direct delivery if you need it.

trouble is the tines bent fairly easily.

yes of course its a 3 bolt hole adjustable draw bar angle which was nothing to do with the lever tool ,that was just for the jackstand , an awkward to use leverage design in the holes provided in order to get the stand leg right up out of the way, i suppose a screw jack wouldn't have been quite so quick and good clearance in work. it was fiddly to use though iirc.

there's just about the rotor left up in the nettles, and quite a few tines are ok if a bit rusty and the big belt pulley on the end of the rotor looks in good nick belts broken tho, you can have whats left of it if if you collect .
