Bank governor in 'apocalyptic' warning over rising food prices

But that costs them time.

We all want to buy time. So we can spend it doing what we want to do not have to do
Which is perfectly ok IF you can afford to, if you cant then there is a decision to be made, of course in the modern world the government has to make life easier

First thing the government need to do is to put up a list of ingredients to make say a shepherds pie and how much they cost and then the cost of a ready made supermarket one and then say a McDonald's or pizza and show people how to save money on eating, with over half of people overweight there is a huge amount to be saved, plus of course more by not wasting food .
Of course the government wont as it will be deemed offensive to people.
People pay to watch someone to wash their car, I don‘t think they‘ve got any interest in cooking.

ELMS will be scrapped by the winter. Major food shortages/price rises on the horizon and they wanna take land out of production for birds, trees, thistles etc……. Wat a fe*king joke! they will listen, they will have no choice. The most boring repetitive predictable phrase we’ve been hearing….. - “People have got to eat” - As true as night becomes day.

Yup. You can do a roast chicken dinner and use the left overs for a curry and still get change over a KFC family bucket.

People have got to pay to eat. Cheap food is not a right.

ELMS was a dead duck here 6 months ago .

I think we need a massive investment program on roads, rail and nuclear power personally. Ditch burning gas and just import heating gas from Norway.

There is not a hope in hell of ditching burning gas - just not the money, skills & materials around to do anything about the situation.

Westminster has made a real mess of everything, should have been investing in the North Sea & Fracking 5+ years ago - whilst planning Nuclear.

As I’ve said before, rate should of gone up when things were better a few years back, but Mark Carney was too proud to confess that brexit hadn’t been as bad as they’d forecast.

Interest rates is going to do nothing to solve a supply side problem, cannot import cheaper goods that don't exist.

A massive mistake gambling on Russian energy whilst ignoring home grown energy.

Brexit was correct, but HMG didn't follow through with investment in the UK - instead they created "Global Britain" which is the complete opposite of what Brexit is about.

The problem is the hateful gits in Westminster.
