Like my mother and her obsession with buying costa coffes. Must cost her a fortune. Keep telling her the kettle works but nope shes got to have her dear lattes
I simply don’t get this obsession with bought coffees. They taste sh1te. Not that I’m a big coffee drinker, but how can it taste nice when none of them put decent Jersey milk in them? I’ve tried various different drinks from these places inc "hot chocolate" which is basically brown water, and I remain utterly baffled.

Not my sort of people.

But to be fair, they were very clear that imports of food & energy was the way forward.

One even wrote an article that UK would be better of with no agriculture.

I'm a remainer for many reasons, but Europe has always looked after agriculture.
Really ? You think the CAP has been good for UK agriculture ? Are you serious ?
I think the 50% of small family farms lost since 1972 might disagree.

I've only been in Costa queue at local garage in morning once. My wife was away hillwalking so dropped her off early for bus.

It's actually a social occasion! Saw friends from school I hadn't seen for years. Was great crack. Like going to the pub.

The markup on the coffee is nuts. Another friend was speaking to a guy fixing the same machine. He told my friend the total cups that machine had done and the cost per cup including the cup. Scary figures. I cant remember exactly what they were.

From this week’s Money Week;

"Right now, the real interest rate is -6%, and soon it is going to hit -9%, historically an extraordinarily low figure. This is uncharted territory. No major developed economy has ever seen real rates as deep into negative territory as that."

Welcome to the "new normal". What a shower of sh1te the world’s leaders have become. Official policy in every developed country is now "leave it to the next guy to clear up our sh1t".
Well everyone saw what happened to john major after he cleaned up the shyte , he left a fiscal surplus and boom behind and lost the election in 97
Blair left a mess, which no one as yet has cleaned up

Totally agree. They do taste terrible. How can coffee made with reconstituted milk powder taste anything like the real deal? And as for going through a drive through for a fudging coffee- no way.

Some of the automated coffee making machines you see about will cost at least 10K to buy. They are not cheap.

Soon pays off the cost of a nice stainless steel thermos flask. A pack of ground coffee that lasts us a week costs less than a paper cup of stuff out.

they could stop encouraging multi national companies to plant trees on farm land that could produce food, they could not bring in NVZ legislation on land where there is no problem, they could cull badgers to stop the rise of TB on farms.

This is the government we are talking about. They couldn't organise a proverbial in a brewery. They are only interested in short term thinking and winning votes. Changing farm policy now isn't going to happen.
