Banks requiring business details?

This was common practice at RBS/NatWest some years ago. It was and is nothing less than fraud on the part of the bank in my opinion. Any business found to be in financial difficulty, most often due to allegedly being mis-sold a very very dodgy financial instrument tied to their loan, as explained in the video, was lumped in a special section of the bank which would fleece them with super-high costs with the aim of taking over the assets at a drastic discount to market value in order to re-sell at a massive profit.
This was only a few years ago.

Never trust a bank. Never get in deep with one unless you protect your house and family and are prepared to lose, through sharp practice, everything else you have ever worked for. There are both sharks and vultures working in some of these bank’s departments that are certainly not there to help you but will exploit you mercilessly. They can’t deny it because it was all over the media not so long ago. One can only hope that they have learnt their lesson. I wouldn’t put money on it [pun intended].
They dont need to learn a lesson, they need to be jailed.
And george osborne sanctioned it all

This isn’t confined to business accounts. If you purchase a house the solicitors have to show where the money for the deposit originated from. If you have multiple savings accounts, which you move annually to gain the best interest rates, makes for a tricky paper trail, especially if using online accounts, which you can no longer access after the account has been closed and the funds moved to the next best account. :(

Our bank asked for partnership agreement(simple one only me and OH) then rejected it as it had not been Notorized. Had to find the local notory and get him to sign (£110) and send it to them again. We have banked with them for years perhaps they would not have made such a fuss if we had got large borrowings?

Just don't have a formal partnership agreement, which with a Husband and Wife team, is quite OK.

Maybe the marriage certificate or as suggested above, a pic of the ring :)

After ignoring emails at first from Barclays regarding business details eventually had to sort it.
Had to confirm business details regarding partnership etc and confirm my identity as they didn't have my middle name even though correspondence over the years has had it on it.
Time wasting exercise.

I've received the paperwork again from the team in blue.
It states that I can't borrow any more until I do the id thing.
Never mind then.
20 minutes of my life saved.

Good luck with that. They insisted on a photo-type driving license from me, which none of the partners have. One of us does not have a passport either. Automated remote scanning of passports using ‘WHOYou’ would not work for any of our passport photos on our various personal phones. It was a total shambles that lasted a whole year and nearly drove us and our bank manager up the wall.
