Barenbrug is one of the largest grass seed producers in the UK, distributing more than 4,000 tonnes of grass seed each year through an efficient network in both amenity and forage markets.

My grass seed suppliers are still keeping their cards close to their chests end of next week 1st week of Feb we should have firm prices. I'm expecting a rise of between 8% to 12%, looking at some who have released 2017 prices they seem to have risen about a fiver an acre.

Some of the varieties used in the mixtures are UK grown and I believe some forum members grow seed under contract so you will be supporting your fellow UK farmer by using Barenbrug seed.

Not 100% only a very small proportion of the 4-5000 tonne they process a year is I guess. If there is a price rise of 8% it's still 5% less than the 13% drop in the pound.

We had some last year very competitive and very pleased with the results they have to make a profit or they won't be here to provide or keep others on their toes

Odd the price has risen .Spoke to a grass seed grower last week ...Last year he was getting £1600 per tonne for grass seed ..this year he is getting £900 per tonne ...

No, £3-£4.00/acre nothing to you milk barons. A long way off the heady days of £60+ an acre.
