Barley/ergot

Looking for feed barley but have been told to be careful lots of corn has ergot this year.It was my understanding this is dangerous for cattle but told today no.

Yes ergot is bad for cattle. They get ergotism.

Generally ergot is not a fan of barley so you don’t find much in it compared to other grains, but it can still be there. Easy enough to see in any case.
