Barley volunteers in wheat

Due to the last 12 months weather my already shattered rotation means I've followed sb with wheat ( didn't want to grow it ) anyway we sowed 3 days after finishing combining .
So we have a volunteer issue , is frost my friend ? doesn't appears to be any chems available that will kill the stuff.

we did it in 2018 fusarium was a bigger problem in the sample
for feed wheat the barley is no problem allowed 2 % barley head has 25 grains max wheat usually 60 plus 450 heads of wheat
delaying the barley may make the sample worse as early barley may have shed seed before harvest
wheat can be combined with high wind that blows some barely out the back

we follower winter barley with mercia wheat planted first week of october in 1991 most made milling wheat spec

What will your rotation be going forward. Can’t see you bothering with beans or OSR.
3 yrs wheat, then grass maybe .
neighbour ended up with a mix at harvest, as he’d tried to drill wheat in February , then re drilled spring barley.
Not sure what he did with it, but I’m sure there’d be a market somewhere at the right price, maybe farmer to farmer.

I was having a conversation many years ago with my agronomist. In his opinion, Sod’s law said, that if you tried Atlantis in barley to get out of a BG disaster it would kill the barley. If, you wanted to take barely out if wheat, Atlantis wouldn’t touch it :sneaky:
Would be interesting to try a bit though?
