It hasn’t gone. The old label Basagran is due to go, as is Troy 480. There is a new label Basagran out (same MAPP number though) which has a reduced rate which will supersede the old one.

used in the correct conditions , more likely for spring beans than winter I will confess growth stage wise- control is good .

A very popular product in Southern Europe for this reason I believe

That's a bit unfair. If you left the top off and dropped the can on its side you'd kill a couple more too with the neat chemical.

I used it to try and control charlock in beans about 6 years ago. I think I did a split application, and it didn't work that well, but to be honest I was probably a bit late with the applications in terms of the development of the charlock

Get the timing right and it is very effective
As with most herbicides
Day after a sharp frost on smallish beans very good and not too hot on the beans despite the label and some agronomists views

Well your colleague needs to learn how to use it! Absolutely essential in spring beans and peas - goodness knows what we would do without it. In beans without benefit of MCPB apply on a warm, preferably hot sunny day with plenty mineral oil and it will give very good control of the weeds it is strong on - which ar eht dastardly one sin beans - Pale Persicara, Redshank, Bindweed and Charlock. Sadly no good on Fat Hen. In Peas the possibility of MCPB makes it a useful active. Hey ho each to their own. Best wishes,
