Bateman contour 24M

Evening. I have a 08 rb17 which seems to be somehow out of adjustment. It sprays fine but I struggle to get it into transport. I obviously lift the booms to full height, then fold the booms and then should just have to let them down and hold for a few seconds to release pressure and job done but.... when the booms are folded in it I let go of the switch the booms unfold maybe 3-4 inches and if I was to let them down The outer 24m sections would miss the cradle they sit in and smash off nozzles so for a few times last week I had to keep holding the button down to fold as I let down which pulls the booms too far in and then they go down with a bang which is no good. New to Bateman know it’s only something simple. Any ideas? Thanks

No that’s fine , only thing u can do is slow the hydraulics down on the solenoids on the back off the tank above the filters. On mine I have hold the fold in button while I lower into cradle to.

I think there is a relief valve on the folding circuit to protect the booms if you were to fold/unfold against an obstruction. This maybe worn or out of adjustment.

If in doubt call Bateman. They are always willing to help owners get their machines working and will talk you through any adjustment or repair.

My chafers started doing similar, I was thinking it was probably a seal in the fold in ram letting oil past to the fold out side but not had time to look yet
