What are the main differences between a RB17 and an Househam Airride? Does the RB17 have enough power for a few banks? Which is a better machine?
should add looking at machines from the 2009 - 2012 era.

Keen to know what the ride is like, has one got a better cab environment than the other. What is the chassis like as I know the Househam has a few weak points underneath. Will the Bateman hold it’s value better? Which boom is better on the Bateman? What is the suspension on the Bateman?

RB17 will be short of power on banks. If you go down the Bateman route go for RB26. Cab on the Bateman can be noisy especially on the road with a few revs on.

bateman will be under powered, kingpins very prone to wear, cab is small, ride is choppy to say the least, boom would be better than househam tho, although depends which boom on bateman, those with shearbolts on breakbacks are the work of the devil!

RB17 doesn't have enough power for slopes or if on a lot of power hungry work like potatoes in the wet, I don't have either so get on fine with my 17.
You can only get the standard contour boom on a 17 rides fine but when dampers and bits get worn will swing around alot. Suspension is hydraulic rather than air I have no complaints, won't reach the speed of househam on road. (Bigger models are faster). I have the latest cab which I really like can't comment on the one before.
