Batten fencing

Why hasn’t the nz style of batten fencing get used over here and why don’t they use the netting over in nz. Been to nz can’t understand why they don’t use it as it is far quicker and easier to put up

There is some netting used over there, I think there is some batten fencing done up in scotland, I'm guessing it originated from timber being easier to get hold of than wire, but I don't really know for sure

Use it on the railways, galvanised dropper bars, very easy and quick to fit.
Main plus points, easy to repair and tension with gripples.
Less posts wider spacings
Follows uneven ground well

Cons when lambs feel they can push through, no choice but clip netting on wire

Ye but in nz they use wooden batten which you then shoot small batten staples in it’s a ball ache don’t see why they use it other than it follows the ground better. Also very slow unrolling the wire for spinning genny when you got 7/8 wires to do. Overall a lot slower considering wild pigs and goats just go straight through it can’t imagine they would go through out netting
