Always have trouble starting this tractor, we put 2 Yuasa 70ah 570a’s on a couple of years back, bought from local MF dealer. Could we change the batteries for up-rated ones to start it easier? Or is it something else wrong? The batteries never have seemed good from the start.

What about the battery leads, earth connections and starter? Is it a decent geared starter? Does it make any difference using jump leads?
Run a fresh earth from the battery to starter.
You could fit something like a single 612 battery which will give more oomph.

Battery does sound small capacity imo?

If it's a 019 battery then replace them with varta E44, 77ah and 780cca, won't cure the problem if it's a duff lazy or cheapo starter on it but 570cca is a tad low even if you got 2, 570amps is more like a small car size.

And or fit a gear reduction starter, either a iskra mahle or a Jubana with I can supply if needed.

According to Vap its a 072 battery, A varta H9 is probably about the best you will get although i normally favour the silver range not the black ones!

Do check the actual measurements though just in case i'm wrong, and my link may not be a good price it was just the first that came up on google.

Edit, think i am wrong, H9 is bigger, an 072 looks to be a Varta E24 thats only slightly higher capacity than what you have now.
Its definitely a very small sized battery for a tractor IMO so i would be looking to change it to a bigger single battery?

I done away with the twin battery set up on my MF 3000's and just fitted one big battery.
Twin batterys are just to much hassle

If you haven’t done then remove the earth connection to chassis at front and clean the chassis and the eyelet and check wire. Next time if it does fail to start crank it over for a good ten seconds then feel all battery connections, earth connection and positive cable on top of starter solenoid. You could do this with the wire off the injector pump to stop it from firing. Any warmth points to resistance and poor connection. Otherwise it’s new stqrter time
