Interviewing two farming brothers who have given up beef farming to save the planet. Also some professor from Lancaster University saying that beef and lamb has the highest carbon footprint of all food with pork and chicken a little lower.
Where do they get their facts from ? Everyone, even Professors, seem to have been brainwashed by the Vegan movement and their agenda. How does a cattle or sheep eating grass have a high carbon footprint ? I would suggest it's the lowest and quite possibly negative if you account for the grass and its carbon capture.NFU chap spoke about eating local, sustainable food and the fact our livestock is pretty sustainable in the UK but he,imo, missed a trick by not pushing the extremely low carbon footprint of grass reared UK beef and lamb.
Again no mention of fossil fuels, energy, industry and the real carbon emitters.

Burying your head in the sand is no help either though.

WTF. Fertilser plants closing because of gas price.
There has never been a time in history when we have been so in need of livestock manures.

Was having this discussion with the missus today, if the whole world was vegan we would have no organic fertiliser, only artificial, which requires large amounts of energy to produce, therefore adding to the 'energy crisis' we are in. Why does no-one ever seem to make these points when debating veganism/climate change etc? It seems a blatantly obvious point to me.

No must not mention the real culprit that would stop them flying of around the world . Oil company's in late 60s got scientists to look at all the oil they were producing and they told the company's that it would increase co2 , lancaster university lot are just the same now must not talk about cars and flying upset to many people well clobber the farmers It's the thing to do now. NOT.

Also higher carbon emissions due to cultivating the soil along with more animal and insects lost in the process of growing crops compared to a meat based diet.

In purely “carbon terms” does anybody know how much the carbon cost is for a unit of artificial nitrogen vs manures?

Crops need nutrients to grow. If there are no stock to produce manures then it’s end game for some organic farming systems at the very least.

And if AN takes more carbon to produce than a manure unit then it’s all going to go wrong.

I saw this, it the first bit of bbc bias I've seen first hand, which shows how much of their rubbish I watch. It was nothing more than subliminal messaging to eat less meat.

But I can't see how we, as a species, can exterminate other species on the basis that we need to burn more fossil fuels to fulfil our lives. Because that is what their trying to do. Kill off all the other animals. It's worrying that governments are thinking this way.

I think that they are of the opinion that you don't need to feed the crop or the soil to get it to grow I believe they are of the opinion of stick the seed in the ground, do nothing, it grows, you harvest it and they eat it.

There never say anything said about all crops and grass well all vegetation never mind trees uses up carbon . Read to day that 70 plus percent is nitrogen 20 plus percent is oxygen 1pecent is all the other gasses.
