You beat me to it, if we were getting £1000 per acre we would not need to worry about moddulation. Interesting that the wildlife groups blaimed the NFU for the government not taking the full 15% off us.

The chappy presenting is on twitter and I'm afraid he seems to air to the RSPB side as all his tweets include them. His topics include Bird numbers v farming rather than than saying what farming has done to bird numbers over the last 10-15 years.

What do we expect? The BBC are on holiday and its an easy story. However as its 'our' BBC we should certainly get in touch with them on the figures and let know we don't get the subsidy for owning the land but farming it.

Never seems to amaze me that none of these so called environmental groups ever mention the impact urbanisation has on the UK….its always these farmers fault.

On BBC Breakfast last week they ran an article claiming that the UK's farmers got millions of £'s of subsidies taxpayers money for and I quote "not much more than owning land." That almost made me choke on my tea and buttery and then I remembered that only the BBC could spend taxpayers money celebrating the UK's farmers and their produce (Adam Henson's latest programme and the harvest programme a couple of months back) then run an article portraying Britains farmers as nothing more than subsidy junkies who get paid for doing very little.
