I really admire the tilly trailer pass scheme and what they promote,

But... simple pre-start check procedures & a regular thorough inspection by a competent person are just as effective

I admire it but the only Tilly pass stuff I’ve seen so far from Facebook ect is brand new trailers 🤦🏻‍♂️[emoji24] it’s the 30 year old artic bale trailers the floors fell out of and the dolly could rip off the undercarriage at any moment that need testing not brand new tackle

Some sort of potato trailers on road today in Herefordshire
Yes, there was a stream of them carting from somewhere up here, think a chap rents some land up this way to grow his seed or suchlike. I only know as saw them on my down to a ploughing match Sat in Herefordshite first thing and they were still carting when I came back

There hauling back are way, 90 minutes one way depending on traffic, lucky if you do 3 loads a day.

we farm near the A303, usually at least 1 load of straw fails to negotiate the hazelgrove round about, none, so far, this year, but, straw is not going down to devon/cornwall, like a normal yr. Police would be better occupied, chasing scumbags, not easy targets, on the other hand, scaring a few 18/20 year olds, on fastracs, and straw, into slowing down, wouldn't go amiss !

Motorbike accident yesterday on the road from Mablethorpe ,,not involving anything but he hit a trail of grain that had leaked from both sides of a tail door ,,bike ended up in the hedge, luckily he is ok .
It's not just the trailer brakes and lights that need checking .
I don't know if the tractor driver has been found or which farm they were going to but that could have been a life changing or fatal accident .

Not enough police about in UK.
Lots of serious crimes not being sorted.
But can be they out for this as easy pickings.

Wonder how often they check the travellers vehicles...
I have posted this before but last time I came back from Ireland there were a number of caravans on the ferry.... I counted 19 out of 20 with plates that didn't match the towing vehicles, port authorities must have been aware because the usually manned customs point was completely deserted  There are easy pickings and there are easy pickings that are just too much hassle!
