Why 8"? What a waste of hp and steel IMO. Hardly appropriate for spring beans in March! Corvids will nip the tops off anyway - better to have them up & away by sowing them 2-3" so they emerge with some vigour left in them.

Don’t ask me. Each to their own. These guys had grown hundreds of thousands of acres of crops. How they set their drill was their business.

Vining pea programme - so drilled deep to get into moisture. Standard practice in dry May. presume Fudge is up in North Lincs so be the Birds Eye boys.

The reason Corvids take the tops off , is they are trying to pull the bean out. if they succeed they will keep going at a phenomenal rate. They must be in deep enough.
