Beans- pre em spray

For the first time I have not managed to get the pre em spray done on the winter beans and now they are coming through. Is this going to be a disaster for weed control going forward with the crop?

Well its not good. I think you are legally limited to basagran and crawler....... plus maybe cmax and other fops/dims.
Someone will correct if I am wrong.
There is a thread on here somewhere where someone may have applied their pre-em post-em. Its not legal and definitely not advised.

Not if it's going to damage the crop.

So, is the question:

1) What can I legally use pre-emergence of the bean crop, given my crop has now emerged or
2) What can safely be applied to a crop of beans that has emerged that will deal with the weeds?

If you read French, you can easily find what the continentals use post-em of beans with no ill effects. Can you get any of these in the UK with post-em on the label? I always post in full compliance with UK law but am happy to supply a list of actives which other EU citizens can apply post-emegence to their beans but we sadly cannot.

What is approved in France is virtually immaterial in legal terms I'm afraid.

I think you can apply PDM safely post em of the crop, any weeds you might have already will be totally unfazed, however though they will look yellow as opposed to actually turning yellow.

Do not apply centium to them post em whatever you do.

Hence the disclaimer and the question to see if the OP wants to know what he *can* use or what he is *allowed* to use. I was surprised to see that PDM products for winter beans are seemingly all on SOLAs anyway now, so even pre-em they are essentially at your own risk.
