Beaurocratic nonsense.

Following the dreaded FABBL inspection, it seems my only crime was to have allowed my animal transporter authorisation to slip out of date.

Now this piece of paper in itself I have previously described as a "certificate to say you have a certificate". The latter being the Certificate of welfare of animals in transport.
Which is a nonsense in itself.

So I duly send off my details and copy of this certificate in order to get my animal transporter authorisation updated.

Cue receiving an email to say that my certificate of welfare of animals in transit is not in the correct format. Initially I thought this was because of the way I'd scanned it in, but no, my original, as supplied, certificate is not acceptable and I have to apply for another copy from the issuer.

What a load of beaurocratic baloney😡

BTW, the fabbl inspection was otherwise fine and he was very sensible/reasonable throughout.

… perhaps just tell him you use hauliers for moves over 65km 😉

That what I do. Wouldn’t dream of hauling stock myself over 65km. 😉

The trouble is: what do you put down on the movement licence regarding the haulier and Reg. number of vehicle?

I would put down my own details, and my only defense would be I misread the distance allowed as 65 miles. and that I have no French ancestry and so have no idea what a kilometre is.

To be fair I would rarely move sheep more than that. I thought it was 65 miles or 100km.

Indeed, and its alright til something goes wrong.
Have an accident or something and end up with all sorts of officialdom breathing down your neck and before you know it you get told you're not insured:scratchhead:

You think anyone reads the movement licenses?

I have never filled in my authorisation number on a licence, regardless of distance, and i have never received any comment on it, despite several inspections of the paperwork….. which is unreadable after a few days anyway.

I have twice had phone calls from Trading Standards (who used to ‘file’ them) to reprimand me for only filling in a loading time, and not a departure time as well.

The whole job’s a nonsense tbh.

If the proposed new rules come in we'll need to record the temperature at loading too and the haulier will have to record the temperature during the journey......

and check their headroom once they're loaded! :scratchhead:

That will actually be an efficient system. I can fill that in at the same time as I do the wind speeds on my spray records.👍

Hauliers Number goes down on it 👍🏻 As it happens I’m like others and only move in the locality with hauliers doing most journeys over 10 mile, the lass working for me has done 95% of the box work since she’s been here including everything over 10 mile 👍🏻

Or actually use (a good ) haulier .

Lorry is way more efficient and safe than ifor boxes behind pickups

and to the op , stop the FA and then be able stop the whinging about it?
Actually "whinging" about a legal requirement and the beaurocratic nonsense around it rather than fabbl itself.
And my main requirement for it is buying a few rams so no a lorry is certainly not more efficient in my case. But wouldn't disagree with you for larger numbers.

Just get @Tim W to deliver them. Means the “beaurocratic nonsense” is his problem - helps justify the premium price😂
