Bedding in the shed

I have a small shed for lambing. One side is free range for expectant ewes and the other is pens for when they’ve lambed. How do you bed it for the sheep? Mine has a concrete floor so I lime it and straw it. Then I top up straw. I pick up any poop I can.
What do you do when you have an empty pen after it’s been used? I’ve read some people top up and others clean out, but cleaning out is creating so much waste. This year I am liming and restrawing pens so it is creating more of a cushion. The only issue is when the new ewe and lambs go in the ewe can start pawing it all up, including any manky stuff underneath.
How do you manage your sheds in this respect?

Each lambing pen should be able to take about eight successive occupants, at least if each is only in only for a day or so.

Make certain that every lamb has its navel properly dipped in iodine solution

Don't spill or overfill the water buckets.

Use a powder disinfectant between occupants, and top up with dry straw.

Religiously remove all cleanings (afterbirths).

And as tr250 said above, try to muck out any that get too dirty.
