Yes farmers fresh, there taking the pee a little this last few weeks, there usually on par with dunbia
They do die out better at F Fresh than dunbia, but I don't think 15p/kg better.

Anyway got lambs going to dunbia and Merthyr next week, should be interesting to compare weights, though the dunbia man always picks out really good meated lambs (which should kill out better) Merthyr seem to want them lean,

I haven't been over happy with F Fresh lately with weights, going to give them one last go on Tuesday and see where we're at. Have you killed any at F F lately? If so how do they grade with you compared to the other 2?

Did not see stores sold in exeter today but got there for grazing ewes.

Trade was very poor. There was an excellent run of 4/6 tooth Lleyns ewes, about 120 I think. Good blocky ewes and ranged from £70 down to £60 and where a hard sell. I picked up a pen for £68 and if I had more grass I would have picked up a couple more pens.

Was told stores were stand on for last week, good number in a swell by the looks of it.

The drought is still very much making its impact felt around here.

Market report is now online for today.

Only 97 grazers in so I think the ones you quote above actually might have come out of the breeding section thou the report for them says the above breed were all making £71 or less ( except for one pen at £75 ) , Mule Shearlings only making £76/71 a pen.

Sounds a grand trade compared to what the stirks were making.

Grass is very short around here, not growing back at all after its grazed, fields look more like they would normally do in a June heat wave than the end of Sept. thinking now is it wont recover until next spring and even then it will need a wet but mild winter.

Christ it’s gunna screw job up for next year at them prices. I have banned myself from buying sheep if I buy 10 I will end up buying more. Only thing I am allowing myself to do is keep some gimmer lambs and tup them. Very dangerous for me to go anywhere near a sale at the moment.

I don't think ewes with lambs at foot will be a very good trade next spring either, with the current breeding prices then single outfits ought to be about £90/100 head and double outfits no more than £120 tops.
