Are the cheapest store lambs bought in the prime ring?

Friday Exeter is stores only. Prime us Monday. Last Monday there were some very cheap stores in prime. I’m looking Monday coming but doubt it will be reported.

Stores I sold today would be better than prime last Monday ignoring the levy.

It’s picking the right market that many seem to get wrong, maybe it’s vanity for some, not wanting to sell stores??

I think it could be vanity as you say. The store markets in the north have (in my view) been a good trade considering everything that’s happening this back end. I sell into both prime and store at this time of year and have always thought that there was some cheap stuff available in the prime ring. The only thing that has stopped me is the fact I would be bidding against the people I would be trying to sell the lambs back to.
There are a lot of prime lambs sold through the store ring up here. The ones that do are often better off due to levy, commission, scales and more importantly it’s easier to sell something to a farmer than to a dealer/processor
