Not sure how many told similar to last week dunbia not there. all the rest seemed to be, my lambs were pulled out of deadweight a bit fit. loads of big fat sheep in so keeping pence per kg down

Can’t remember the wood heads grid ( and never look up there with my grade cattle) but would guess no more than 5-10p off for a U+\E 2 so would have been worth as much gone sooner. And the price was higher......isn’t hind sight great.
its hard to say unless you see the cattle, but maybe I would of started hard feed sooner, if their big enough then their ready for hard feed

I’m sure they will not use any of that ‘out of spec’ meat and they will pay to have it disposed of or even send it back to you!!!!

Could you feed them as you would bulls ie. From weaning push them hard and not bother turning out to graze!?

They are great cattle. Hard to believe many will have better paying cattle. Its impossible to get the weights bang on every time. Well done.

Exactly look at the grossing values. The weight limits/spec are where they are for a reason. They know fine well that not every beast will finish and stop growing out before these limits. Excellent job

I asked Woodheads lorry driver yesterday if he saw a lot of under finished cattle these days due to weight limits, he very much agreed. I draw as much on weight these days as finish and feed from lighter weights. I would say a dozen of what I sent could of carried another 50kg without spoiling. I still expect several overweights as the cattle have piled on an exceptional amount of weight the last month and caught me by surprise a bit.

One agent told me he’s starting to see cattle come forward at lighter weights as it isn’t paying to take them to big weights. Which was basically what I was intending on doing as I might be a bit tight on forage and it’s costing too much to feed a 650-750kg animal. £3+\day is just moving money around not making any.
What weight live was they? What percentage kill out?
